The New Mexico Professional Fire Fighters Association is proud to announce a wholehearted endorsement for candidate Diane Denish for Governor of New Mexico in 2010.

Diane Denish, serving New Mexico as our current Lieutenant Governor has shown her astute ability to balance the interests of business and labor, of public safety and personal freedom in a state with complex social and ethnic diversity. Every voice is heard and every viewpoint is respected. She responds to her constituents on many levels and always seems to be the champion of all New Mexicans, including the children, the low income families, small business owners, victims of violent crimes including domestic violence and other abuse, and the average tax payer trying to make ends meet. It has been one of her personal goals long before National Healthcare was in the headlines, to provide health insurance for all New Mexico’s children.

As fire fighters and first responders, we believe that Diane Denish has what it takes to lead New Mexico into a happy, productive future, with in-state opportunities for businesses to thrive and employees to earn a living. It is our goal as public servants to be involved in directing the executive branch toward constructive solutions with all the stakeholders at the table. In this we believe that Lieutenant Governor Denish is the best candidate for Governor based upon her record of inclusion of fire fighters and other public safety employees in dialogue about New Mexico’s future.

The New Mexico Professional Fire Fighters’ Association, which is the statewide voice for all International Association of Fire Fighters locals and their members, representing 20 different labor organizations , with over 1700 firefighter members and actively involved in all state areas that impact fire fighting and emergency medical care, has been a supporter of Lieutenant Governor Denish since she first came into office. We are proud of the impact she has made on our reputation in the western states and fully support her candidacy for Governor of the State of New Mexico.
