To: All Labor Leaders

As you are all aware, it was a priority for Mayor Berry and his Administration to unilaterally change the working conditions of Local 244’s President, Diego Arencon. That action was a direct attack on Labor in hopes that it would inhibit our ability to represent our members, negatively impact their families and suppress our ability to function as a labor organization.

Brothers and Sisters, We have good news. IAFF Local 244 has received a final order from the presiding Judge. Our defense of contract language negotiated in good faith with the City of Albuquerque has been successful. This ruling is a victory is for all of organized labor to celebrate.

On behalf of our Local we would like to express our appreciation to all of you for the support we received during this proceeding.
